Online retailers accounted for 11% of furniture and bedding sales in 2015, according to Furniture/Today market research estimates. That’s one percentage point higher than their market share in 2014. Translated into dollars, online players increased furniture sales by an estimated 15% between 2014 and 2015, while all channels grew between 4% and 5%. By 2020, the online channel will comprise a projected 17% of total sales.
As a key component to covering the online channel, Furniture/Today presents its 30 leading online furniture retailers. To be eligible for the listing, companies must sell at least 80% of furniture merchandise online. This report focuses on furniture e-tailers.
Total 2015 sales for the online furniture retailers featured topped a combined $115 billion.
Furniture/Today’s exclusive report lists 30 online home furnishings retailers in alphabetical order. To qualify, companies must sell at least 80% of product online.
This list is by no means comprehensive. Many more than the 30 Internet retailers listed here are strong players within the home furnishings industry and online channel. This report does not rank companies, nor does it feature furniture retailers who have both a significant brick-and-mortar and online presence, such as Rooms To Go, Walmart and Williams- Sonoma.
All sales figures and ranges are Furniture/Today market research estimates and are for total 2015 sales, which may include revenues from the sale of products other than furniture. Furniture/Today chooses not to include some companies due to lack of verification of revenue figures.
