About the data

Furniture Today’s exclusive report, the 2017 Upholstery Fabric and Style Survey, reflects the answers of 11 to 74 respondents representing 4,513 storefronts. Each store’s 2016 unit sales of upholstery were used as the basis for the market share data. Contacted during October, retailers based responses for different styles and fabric covers in stationary sofas, motion sofas and reclining chairs at low, middle, upper-middle and high price points.
