Furniture Today market research worked with Easy Analytic Software Inc. (EASI) to develop retail sales estimates for 18 specific home furnishings products for 2016 and sales projections for 2020 for all 50 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia, 917 metropolitan and micropolitan areas and 3,143 counties. 2015 sales estimates for each product category were developed by Furniture Today market research based on data available through October 2015 and are subject to revision as additional data become available.

Current estimates are based on information from the Department of Commerce, the International Trade Commission, sales estimates from manufacturers and retailers, Furniture Today's consumer surveys, Upholstery and Case Goods Style surveys, the Furniture Store Performance Report and discussions with industry executives and analysts.
