Home Accents Today's Accent on Furniture Stores Survey, 2015
Product Description
Originally published in the July 2015 print issue of Home Accents Today
Furniture stores are finding success with home accents as consumers continue to buy accents and accessories to freshen the home in a more creative and less expensive way. Home accents accounted for a median of 10% of selling space through furniture stores and a median of 7% of total sales last year. Three out of 10 customer sales included an add-on home accent in 2014.
Those data points were reported by furniture stores answering Home Accents Today's 2015 Furniture Store Survey. This exclusive presentation provides an overview of home accent merchandise mix and operating data through the furniture store channel. Home accents were defined by the survey as area rugs, wall décor, lamps, lighting, accent furniture, pillows, top-of-bed, permanent botanicals and the catch-all decorative accessories category, which includes vases, sculptures, candleholders, storage and many other products. Home Accents Today's 2015 Furniture Store Survey looks at home accent merchandise mix data within the furniture store channel. Companies representing more than 250 storefronts participated in the survey. Data reflects fiscal year 2014.
