Despite a big bump in the road, the window business made gains in 2015. For the total window business, sales rose 2.7% to $2.73 billion. That includes soft window, hard window, custom business and window fixtures. NPD Group puts retail sales of soft window at $1.2 billion in sales and 73.1 million units for the 12-month period ended in August 2016.
