More than eight in 10 consumers are bringing the outdoors in by using outdoor fabrics inside their home, according to Casual Living’s exclusive 2018 Fabric Survey. According to respondents, consumers are also interested in bringing the indoors outside. A designer from Delaware wrote that consumers want “fabrics that have the feel and appearance of textiles that would be used for indoor applications.”

About the data

Fielded in November and December, Casual Living’s annual fabric survey presents 2018 fabric color and pattern projections for outdoor furniture retail stores and designers. The survey was answered by 42 respondents representing 1,085 storefronts.
