It sounds like the title of a new Hollywood thriller: Attack of the Allergens! But there is nothing thrilling about the attack that allergens of all sorts are mounting on consumers this Spring, one that will continue throughout the year. Allergens ?? whether they be the pollens that cause red eyes and sneezing, or dust or dust mites, or any number of other irritants ?? are playing havoc with consumers across the country.

But all is not lost in this battle, an Apartment Therapy/ Furniture/Today consumer survey reveals. In this special supplement, we look at consumer attitudes on products designed to protect against allergens. We break our data down by demographic groups, noting that it's not just aging Baby Boomers who need help in the battle with allergens. We also take a look at the issue from a geographical point of view. About the data: Furniture/Today partnered with New York based Apartment Therapy to ask consumers about mattresses and mattress accessory products. The online survey posted on Apartment Therapy's site and garnered responses from 540 consumers.
