Consumers favor innerspring and memory foam sleep sets, according to a consumer buying trends survey conducted by Furniture Today. The survey found that innerspring beds accounted for 35% of mattress purchases last year, with memory foam beds (including gel memory foam) accounting for 34% of mattress purchases. That difference is less than the margin of error in the study, which means the two most popular types of bed constructions are essentially in a dead heat
