Today's moms are finding new products and gaining parenting advice from online blogs. Instead of perusing page after page of parenting books, moms are turning on their smartphones and laptops and reading their favorite blogs. Sixty-two percent of moms regularly read parenting blogs such as Baby Center and Dear Chrissy, according to the Kids Today and Mom Central Consulting 2012 Children's Furniture and Gear Survey. Kids Today partnered with Newton, Mass.-based Mom Central Consulting in May last year to ask moms where they shop and how they research products. The online survey fielded to Mom Central's proprietary panel of moms and garnered responses from 772 moms.
