Product Description
This report originally appeared in the January 2013 print issue of Kids Today
Hispanics in the United States are the fastest-growing population group with 43% growth from 2000 to 2010, according to the most recent Census data. In 2000, the Hispanic share of the total U.S. population was 12.5% and in 2010 the Hispanic share jumped to 16.3% of the total population. This is an important consumer group for furniture; a recent survey by BIGinsight Media found that Hispanic moms are 67% more likely than the general population to buy furniture and 143% more likely to buy baby items in the next six months. The report also examines the increase in Hispanic mom's online presence. One of the top researched products online include baby and children's items, 28% of Hispanic moms research these products online before they buy, compared with only 11% of all adults ages 18 and over.
