Product Description
Originally published in the April 21, 2012 issue of Furniture Today
The demographic group known as the Millennials is the first generation to come of age in the new millennium. With adult members between 18 and 31, they're individualistic, racially diverse, educated and technologically advanced. They multi-task and crave instant gratification and stimulation. Furniture/Today surveyed this important group through an exclusive partnership with New York-based Apartment Therapy, a leading online home decorating source.
In asking Millennials where they regularly shop for furniture and why, the answer was loud and clear. An amazing 100% of respondents go to lifestyle furniture stores. Specifically, nearly half mentioned Ikea, while one-fourth each named West Elm and Crate & Barrel stores. About the data - Furniture/Today partnered with New York-based Apartment Therapy in 2012 to conduct a series of consumer surveys.
The first survey fielded in January and February and garnered responses from 1,100 consumers. Founded in 2004, Apartment Therapy currently reaches more than eight million unique readers online each month.
