Furniture/Today's Consumer Health & Wellness Report, 2016
Product Description
Originally published in the May 16, 2016 print issue of Furniture Today
Twenty-three percent of consumers have purchased furniture to promote their physical well-being. That’s according to the more than 650 consumers answering an exclusive 2016 Furniture/Today survey about the issue.
Health and wellness furniture buyers are most likely to be in the 55-plus age bracket, with the target buyer between the ages of 55 and 64.
Consumers are willing to spend more for health and wellness. Per Furniture/Today’s research, nearly nine out of 10 consumers will spend more on a chair that assists in pain relief.
About the data - Furniture/Today fielded an online consumer survey in January asking questions about health and wellness. The research was conducted among females and males ages 21 to 70. Within that age range, respondents were balanced nationally by household income and region of the country. The survey garnered responses from 651 consumers.
