Nearly nine out of 10 moms own a smartphone, according to the latest data from the BabyCenter 2013 Mobile Mom Report. In 2013, the percentage of moms owning a smartphone increased 22 percentage points from the prior year. In the last few years, the percentage of moms using smartphones to shop has increased 21 percentage points, from 42% in 2011 to 63% last year. That's according to the BabyCenter 2013 Mobile Mom report. According to the latest data from comScore, overall mobile purchasing accounted for 11% of e-commerce spending in 2013. Seven percent of mobile commerce spending last year is attributed to smartphones, while tablets accounted for 4%.
